Accessible to You

Tuesday, February 2, 2010 2:10 pm

Kitchener-Conestoga is an enormous riding -- over 50 km from North to South or from East to West, as the crow flies. Our riding covers almost a thousand square kilometres. To put this in perspective, it is more than 10 times the size of Kitchener-Waterloo, and more than 20 times the size of Kitchener Centre.

There’s an additional challenge. While my office is on the bus route, public transit doesn’t reach the bulk of communities in our riding.

That’s why I’m making myself accessible to you, the constituents I’m privileged to represent, by hosting Coffee Dialogues in communities across our riding. Whether or not we agree on a given issue, your input provides a valuable perspective that I take to Ottawa as your Member of Parliament. Balancing this diversity is an important part of my job: your input allows me to better represent our entire riding.

Hope to see you. I’ll buy the coffee. You bring your feedback.
